The Rostovan discovered a rare talent for balancing stones

53-year-old resident of Kamensk-Shakhtinsky Vladimir Maksimentsev discovered a rare hobby - the art of balancing stones. The man builds out of the stones constructions, which are held as if by a miracle. There are only a few dozen people in the world like him.

His hobby came when he was more than 40 years old: he was resting with his family at sea and, to do something, began to collect constructions from stones. Usually people make pyramids with a wide base and small pebbles at the top, but Vladimir complicated himself the task and started with a little naughty, and from above put a large cobblestone. The building stood for a couple of minutes. Neighbors on the beach, looking at him, also tried to lay down the stone structures, but they did not succeed.

Returning home to Kamensk, Maksimentsev went to a stone quarry near the house, and it turned out that he could build shapeless blocks as easily as small smooth pebbles. Some designs lasted one or two minutes, others - a few days. "For me, a stone is like an interlocutor. I mentally say to him: "We must stand!" - and he obeys. Sometimes I pick up a cobblestone and immediately see: it's no good. I'm raising another - it's good, but for my purposes it's too simple. I'm not interested in making an ordinary, standard pyramid. I define for myself a super task, like a climber, who climbs to the top on the most difficult slope. I feel satisfaction only if I put a stone on a sharp edge or I plant it on a small cobblestone. Or here's the aerobatics - the pyramid, it seems, is about to collapse, and you - bam! - on the other hand, the stone for equilibrium is right at the right point, and everything keeps. "

In the US state of Texas, there is a championship for balancing stones every year, but no more than 20 people from all over the world come there. Vladimir himself at the championship has never been, and collects stones only on vacation at sea.
